My Story

At the Law Office of Edward Burns, PC, we believe that a lawyer should be more than just an advocate. They should be a trusted friend who truly understands you and your goals. That’s why I became a lawyer – to help people like you, work hard, and communicate effectively. An estate plan is like a story, and I would love to tell yours. But before we begin, let me share a little about myself.

I started my journey as a news paperboy at the age of ten, learning the value of hard work and dedication. With determination, I achieved success even without a college degree. However, I knew that to better serve my clients, I needed to further my education. So, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from U.C. Berkeley and my J.D. from the University of Washington. California has always been home to me, and I returned here to launch my career as a lawyer, serving the state I love. I’ve been fortunate to have known my wife since 2nd grade, and she has brought so much joy and inspiration into my life. Together, we enjoy country music, have three wonderful children, and organize charity events to make a positive impact in our community. We love exploring the beautiful landscapes of Twain Harte, CA, snorkeling the waters of Maui, and attending concerts whenever we can.

Music has always been a passion of mine, and I taught myself how to play the guitar at the age of 15. Growing up, I quickly learned the art of making friends wherever I went, a skill that has served me well in my career. And when I’m not busy practicing law or playing guitar, I am creating in the kitchen. I take pride in cooking and achieving that perfect medium rare steak or crispy carnitas.
